Official Contact Routes

This private reference site is not a government office. It cannot verify a custody status, release a person, post a bond, or obtain an official booking record. Contact the agency that maintains the record for those matters.

Jail and Sheriff Records

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is the local route for a current county-custody question, a booking record, or a request about whether a booking photograph is maintained and releasable. The Sheriff identifies Renee Moreland as its Open Records contact and directs requesters to the office’s Open Records Request Form. No fixed booking-photo fee or office hours were published in the research, so ask the office for the current procedure.

Use a written Texas Public Information Act request for a specific record. Include the person’s full name, an approximate arrest or booking date, the arresting agency if known, and the precise record requested. The county asks requesters to send a request to the department that has custody of the information.

  • For an in-county custody check, start with the official Sheriff roster and then verify a release, transfer, or unusual result with the Sheriff.
  • For a local booking record or photo question, direct the written request to the Sheriff’s Open Records route.
  • For a possible active warrant, use the Wanted Fugitives route and confirm status with the Sheriff or issuing court.
  • For a later misdemeanor or felony result, contact the appropriate Fayette County clerk rather than treating a booking entry as a disposition.
  • For someone received into Texas state prison, use the TDCJ offender-information route; it is separate from county custody and does not promise public photos.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the applicable BOP or ICE locator, which is separate from the Fayette County jail system.
